I agree that PowerPoint's html feature is lame to the point of uselessness.
After trying
making GIFs of every page of a PowerPoint presentation (taking screen shots
then
translating the resulting Pict file into GIF with GraphicConverter) then
putting the GIFs on
custom-made linked html pages (talk about lame! - and I came up with that
procedure
"all by myself"!) - I have concluded that the quickest and most effective
way to get a PowerPoint presentation on the web is to print it to a
postscript file, then turn it into a PDF with Acrobat Pro. Beautiful
results. After making the PDF file, you can open it it Acrobat Exchange and
make thumbnails for navigation through the presenation, and add notes if
you wish, to individual pages.
I learned this on this list, by the way, and am really happy with my
newfound power over PowerPoint.
