Dear List,
Here in sunny Leeds, UK we have a number of solutions to this problem
most of which fall out of your funds but have found a simple solution
to allowing cheap access to colour printers to both PC and Mac
computers on a network.
We have a number of Epson 1270 A3 colour inkjet printers, these have
both USB and Parallel ports on them, so what we do is have the
Parallel port connected to a PC and have it shared from that computer
then at the same time we have a Mac connected to the USB port and
have that Mac share said printer. This works great in most locations,
in ones where it is not possible to have Mac and PC in close
proximity we have installed JetDirect cards to the printers and
shared them that way.
Hope this helps.
