Does this share name length restriction apply to shared folders as well?

One of my users, running Win2K workstation, is sharing a folder. The share
name is 16 chars long. He has two other shares, one has 11 chars, the other
12 chars. Win98 clients on the network can see the shares with 11 and 12
char share names, but not the one with the 16 char name. However, we can
explicitly map a drive letter to that share by typing in the known path.

All three shares are visible to our Win2K clients.

It does! Though I've found in both 95 & 98, that even if you can't see
the print queue when you browse, if you know the full name (and path) of
the shared printer you can enter it and it usually works.
