Since it's not working, I can only say "yes."

You should check out Apple Software Restore and Disk Copy info. This page
as a bunch of good information on the topic
http://macsetup.editthispage.com/stories/storyReader$10 (there's more good
stuff elsewhere on that site). Reading this and Apple's own information
helped me create a bootable CD which automatically re-images an loaner
iBook when it's turned in, much like we do with Ghost for PCs. It's been a
while since I did that work so I can't just rattle off how to do it.
